Warrants Outstanding Walkthrough

Desk: Patrol

Objective: Pursue Subject

You are told by your partner that a guy on the sidewalk is wanted for skipping bail. His name is Wendell Bowers and your objective is to pursue him. There are two different ways to complete this objective (that I know of). They both involve chasing Wendell Bowers down an alleyway, passing a reversing vehicle and other obstacles, before climbing up a fire escape and a drain pipe. The chase then continues across several rooftops.

Wendell Bowers eventually runs out of rooftops and is forced into hiding behind a small concrete building. If you continue chasing at full pace he will punch you in the face. A fight sequence follows culminating in Bowers taking a fatal fall from the roof.

At the point where Wendell goes into hiding, an alternative and superior method is to stop and walk carefully up to his hiding place. You will avoid the punch in the face, this gives you the upper hand, a fist fight ensues and you get the opportunity to apprehend Wendell Bowers.

Either way counts as a successful conclusion to the objective.

Armed and Dangerous Walkthrough

Desk: Patrol

Location: Westlake Savings and Loans

Objective: Subdue Robbery Suspects

A gang of armed robbers are attempting a heist at Westlake Savings and Loans. To avoid being shot take cover behind a car and shoot the robbers outside the bank. Go inside the bank and take cover behind one of the pillars. Wait for suspects to break cover so that you can shoot them. The first will emerge from behind a pillar, the next behind the counter and the one up on the balcony. You don't have to shoot them in this order but that is how they generally appear in the game.

Armed and Dangerous is an easy introduction to the street crime feature of the game, whereby you receive a radio message of a crime and have to decide whether or not to attend. The assignment also serves as a quick lesson in the weapons feature and how to take (and break) cover.

Hidden Newspaper: Shrink Says Mind is the Final Frontier

Clues
Bloodstain
Smith and Wesson Revolver
Gun Store Ledger
Shroeder's Notebook

Locations
Alleyway Crime Scene
Gun Store
Shroeder's Apartment

People
Scooter Peyton
Errol Schroeder
Detective Floyd Rose

Notes
The first case is a gentle introduction to the game of L.A. Noire. Initially Cole is given a very easy case to solve, the first clue is a bloodstain on the door at the end of the alleyway. The newspaper is on a line of wooden crates or boxes in the alleyway. A reflection in the window reveals the whereabouts of the Revolver. Use the drainpipe to access the roof and collect the evidence. It is important to interact with the clue to get the full evidence from the crime scene. In this case, open the gun and inspect the chamber to see how many times it has been fired.

Drive to the gun store and find the owner of the Revolver in the ledger. This action will provide Shroeder's address.

Go to Errol Schroeder's apartment and find his notebook.
